Why do people still think Homosexuality is a choice?

Time and time again, I read that people still consider homosexuality as a choice - its not! Often people state that Homosexuality and Pedophilia are linked - they aren't. In response to such claims (often from those using Religion as an argument) most gay men now equate religion to hate (Im trying not to) and this should not be done.

Here are some interesting articles/links that support my opinion/views and present some fact.

A Medical Perspective : http://www.apa.org/topics/orientation.html
A Religious Perspective : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1020GayChristianTeens/message/1020
For those who quote the Bible : http://home.insight.rr.com/snookems/controversies/contradictions.html and

Hopefully - thoughtful consideration of the above should make the haters reconsider, but Im actually starting to think that nothing will change the minds of these people

Again science has more yet to prove... Science is all about proving theories. Honestly religion really tries to (in a sense) dis-own science. BTW I'm happy for you that you have found someone in your life that truely makes you happy; it's an ultimate goal in life and very rewarding when you find that one. Religions consist of conservative people though, religions are generally going to have a conservative thought; the resiliance to change. The Status-Quo. Keep following the path of God's teachings to the best of your understanding, everybody is entitled to their own interpretation and opinions, but nobody will ever know who is necessarly right. We will all find out on our judgement day. God's Peace =D

Thanks! You appear to be a more 'balanced' Christian than the ones I have been dealing with!

I'm just sorry to see that you have to deal with some unreasonable Christian's =( I choose the path of Christianity as it hold's many of the beliefs that I find to be truth; Many though will pick and choose though what they believe truth or not. It is unreasonable for me to bash your beliefs, but everybody has a voice to be heard and whether they believe in homosexuality or not should walk themselves away from a bias and hear what eachother have to say in a reasonable fashion instead of just saying "your wrong" it's always a pleasure to see both sided issues. I can always have my opinions to what I believe more to truth, but we should all.
