Digg Duplicates are caused by STUPID Digg users!

I see so many comments about digg's duplicate detection system. No system in the world can compensate for stupid people!! Its stupid people who want more than anything to see their user id on a popular story that leads them to click the continue button when duplicate candidates are identified! People - Get a life - eliminate duplicates

I had a great Amstedam Gay Pride - Some Didnt

Saldly the homophobic attacks in Amsterdam during Gay Pride put a downer on what was a great weekend. Now that there is a special police force investigating, maybe these people will be found and deported

Angry Mother Defends Gay Son

All Homophobics who hide under the banner of "Family Care Associations" should read this article. This is a real Mother!

Link works - but the important content is pasted below:

Many letters have been sent to the Valley News concerning the homosexual menace in Vermont. I am the mother of a gay son and I’ve taken enough from you good people. I’m tired of your foolish rhetoric about the “homosexual agenda” and your allegations that accepting homosexuality is the same thing as advocating sex with children. You are cruel and ignorant. You have been robbing me of the joys of motherhood ever since my children were tiny.

My firstborn son started suffering at the hands of the moral little thugs from your moral, upright families from the time he was in the first grade. He was physically and verbally abused from first grade straight through high school because he was perceived to be gay.

He never professed to be gay or had any association with anything gay, but he had the misfortune not to walk or have gestures like the other boys. He was called “fag” incessantly, starting when he was 6.

In high school, while your children were doing what kids that age should be doing, mine labored over a suicide note, drafting and redrafting it to be sure his family knew how much he loved them. My sobbing 17-year-old tore the heart out of me as he choked out that he just couldn’t bear to continue living any longer, that he didn’t want to be gay and that he couldn’t face a life without dignity.

You have the audacity to talk about protecting families and children from the homosexual menace, while you yourselves tear apart families and drive children to despair. I don’t know why my son is gay, but I do know that God didn’t put him, and millions like him, on this Earth to give you someone to abuse. God gave you brains so that you could think, and it’s about time you started doing that.

At the core of all your misguided beliefs is the belief that this could never happen to you, that there is some kind of subculture out there that people have chosen to join. The fact is that if it can happen to my family, it can happen to yours, and you won’t get to choose. Whether it is genetic or whether something occurs during a critical time of fetal development, I don’t know. I can only tell you with an absolute certainty that it is inborn.

If you want to tout your own morality, you’d best come up with something more substantive than your heterosexuality. You did nothing to earn it; it was given to you. If you disagree, I would be interested in hearing your story, because my own heterosexuality was a blessing I received with no effort whatsoever on my part. It is so woven into the very soul of me that nothing could ever change it. For those of you who reduce sexual orientation to a simple choice, a character issue, a bad habit or something that can be changed by a 10-step program, I’m puzzled. Are you saying that your own sexual orientation is nothing more than something you have chosen, that you could change it at will? If that’s not the case, then why would you suggest that someone else can?

A popular theme in your letters is that Vermont has been infiltrated by outsiders. Both sides of my family have lived in Vermont for generations. I am heart and soul a Vermonter, so I’ll thank you to stop saying that you are speaking for “true Vermonters.”

You invoke the memory of the brave people who have fought on the battlefield for this great country, saying that they didn’t give their lives so that the “homosexual agenda” could tear down the principles they died defending. My 83-year-old father fought in some of the most horrific battles of World War II, was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.

He shakes his head in sadness at the life his grandson has had to live. He says he fought alongside homosexuals in those battles, that they did their part and bothered no one. One of his best friends in the service was gay, and he never knew it until the end, and when he did find out, it mattered not at all. That wasn’t the measure of the man.

You religious folk just can’t bear the thought that as my son emerges from the hell that was his childhood he might like to find a lifelong companion and have a measure of happiness. It offends your sensibilities that he should request the right to visit that companion in the hospital, to make medical decisions for him or to benefit from tax laws governing inheritance.

How dare he? you say. These outrageous requests would threaten the very existence of your family, would undermine the sanctity of marriage. You use religion to abdicate your responsibility to be thinking human beings. There are vast numbers of religious people who find your attitudes repugnant. God is not for the privileged majority, and God knows my son has committed no sin.

The deep-thinking author of a letter to the April 12 ‘05 Valley News who lectures about homosexual sin and tells us about “those of us who have been blessed with the benefits of a religious upbringing” asks: “What ever happened to the idea of striving . . . to be better human beings than we are?”

Indeed, sir, what ever happened to that?

So you are Intolerant? Piss Off

Gay Pride is now over for another year in Amsterdam. With a huge increase in serious homophobic attacks in the city by Moroccan Muslims some of the boats were sending a clear message to the haters!
"So You are Intolerant? .... Piss Off"

There are many Moroccans in Holland, and no one would have a problem if they would integrate and not fight local culture. If they dont like/accept Gay People - they can always go to a country where there are more people that agree with them.

A new angle on Immigration Tests : Does this offend you?

New applicants for Dutch Citizenship are shown a movie that depicts two gay men kissing. There is a growing problem in Amsterdam with Moroccan/Muslim kids abusing Gay people which is totally against Dutch Culture. This move wont solve the problem - there are too many Moroccan haters - but it may stop the problem getting worse.

Hate Crimes Legislation

Ok, some guy called Donald E. Wildmon under the dubious banner of the "American Family Association" (AFA) seems to be getting a bit hot under the collar about the upcoming Legislative changes to restore Human Rights to Gay Men and Women in the US.

Why is he getting so hot under the collar? Well, this whole organization (Like Westboro Baptist Church) would not be able to distribute their Propaganda anymore, as this seems to be the entire objective of their lives; if this legislation succeeds, they will have to find something else to do!

I expect they will feel like an Alcoholic on their 1st day at the clinic!

Digg SPAM

There are a number of digg users that SPAM sites with postings for Religious news or discussion sites. The idea of Digg is to have conversations on digg about content stored elsewhere. One particular group (theologyonline) on Digg recently challenged me on this, tried to get me to continue my discussion on their site - and accused me of being a SPAMr when I refused!

Thankfully one of their breed has now added me to his digg ignore list, as if I will be offended by that!

The Digg Article where this all started is @

Have a look at the mail blog entry link above - apparently I "Chickened Out" Well, if that makes them feel good to think that, Im glad I had an involvement in making someone feel that they achieved something!

Some Religions are "Seeing the Light"

Senior Members of the Church of England are now preaching tolerance, isnt it a shame that the rest of the churches/sects etc are not following suit?

The Pope, in his Easter Message preached the same old crap that has been stated for years. When will he stop causing the death of millions of people by preaching his outdated doctrines?

The UK has its act together, why cant the US do the same

The UK Schools out initiative produces advice, materials and education to teaching professionals regarding how do discuss the issues around homosexuality.

Whenever there are discussions in the US on this topic - most people think that kids will be told what happens in the bedroom; this is not the case; and is unnecessary

Maybe some US educators can use this material to prevent the next generation of Americans becoming haters

Sad Digg Users

I think, like a lot of people, digg is a great site and communities are forming as the user base grows into 'groups' or communities of friends.

There are two types of user however that are becoming more common;

1. The Hater

2. The Preacher

Firstly the hater, lets use an example. There has been a user I have reported to Digg Abuse many times, but, he keeps creating new Id's (some of these have been jamescarville, mudpplsuck, diggfaggot, and the latest one today - redmeat) His hobby is using the words 'mud people' faggot's (or as he says 'fagg0t') After a little google work - we find that this is a 52 yr old man from Pittsburg - into cars and share dealing.

Secondly - The preacher. These are users, usually webmasters of other sites - who put a spin on news stories (usually religious) on the same issues day after day. An example of this is the user iloveonenewsnow. This guy has submitted loads of stories with a religious spin (usually to spread hate) - This is SPAM plain and simple - however we cant email digg abuse on this. These are users who only submit stories, never digg other stories and never comment.

Its such a shame these people exist who cloud an excellent site

Thanks Tony! But can you have a quiet word with your friend George?

Tony Blair is in the last weeks of his leadership. He's done good things and bad things, like any past Prime Minister. We are told of a great friendship between Tony and George Bush. I wonder if they have ever exchanged views on gay rights? Tony, before you go, can you try and talk your logic on this issue to your best bud George?

Poor Christians - They can get quite upset when they are backed into a corner

There are still a few religious nuts that are part of the digg community that take part in the discussions around homosexuality - after one particular long discussion, when the religious nuts were getting backed into a corner, one poor nut lost it! (See the link for the complete article on Digg)

An extract:

"joeyjojo - Do you put words in people's mouths much?

You obviously "need" to get your point across - G'luck, I'm done with talking to Godless, non-spiritual people like you. I haven't mentioned hate, once - You come across like the many people here, who think they are too smart for a belief in God. You go ahead and see what you want to see.

Oh, and I'll leave msg's any mf'in way I want. Anything else you want to try to point out to me? Ya fuckin' jerkoff"

Very Christian isnt it?

Hypocritical Religion

For years we have been saying that Homosexuality is not a choice, its nature not nurture etc etc; you know the story. Recently, there has been more and more scientific evidence supporting this. During this time, the Religious right have been in denial, quoting the bible, restating the penalty for us who 'sin', generally fighting all the way. Recently, some have realised that because of the mounting scientific evidence, they have to change their story. The above link will take you to an article tells us when/if it is possible to identify a gay child while it is still in the womb; then it is ok with the big guy upstairs if you have the child aborted!! Hmmm - I wonder if this is the only exception to their 'no abortion' stance? Others are also stating that they should be able to use genetic advances to allow the gay child to be 'cured' before birth, and here is me thinking that the religious right didnt support Designer Babies!!

Homosexuality occurs in many species in nature, it is natural; why is this so hard to accept? Why are the Religious Right so scared of homosexuality that they will make exceptions in conflict with core issues that they have pushed so hard in the past?

I think even if there was a way to prove that Jesus was gay, they still would fight the same old arguments

The bible says nothing about Homosexuality

It appears that those quoting the bible when battling homosexuality are doing so incorrectly due to some of the many translation errors and interpretation errors in this text

An excellent response to Religious Bigots

Ever get quotes from the bible supporting the "You'll burn in hell for being gay"? Review this letter to a Bigoted Radio Talkshow host!

(Reproduced from http://unixgirl.com/humor/bible1.html)

Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice And usually
scoldings to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that
to an Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus
18:22 and cannot be condoned in any circumstance.

The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident and also
posted on the internet:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have
learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with
as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual
lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly
states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific
laws and how to follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing
odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbours. They
claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus
21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is
in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is,
how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not
Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2
clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill
him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I
don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a
defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my
vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden
by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me
unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two
different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments
made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend).
He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that
we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone
them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private
family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws?
(Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I
am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word
is eternal and unchanging. Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.

Support religious exemption from pro-gay adoption laws

Dont you just hate it when right wing religious fanatics are now trying to say Pedophilia and Homosexuality are related just to put the iron rod back in to the fire of the Gay Adoption issue in the UK. Select digg story below and see some of the comments.

Why do people still think Homosexuality is a choice?

Time and time again, I read that people still consider homosexuality as a choice - its not! Often people state that Homosexuality and Pedophilia are linked - they aren't. In response to such claims (often from those using Religion as an argument) most gay men now equate religion to hate (Im trying not to) and this should not be done.

Here are some interesting articles/links that support my opinion/views and present some fact.

A Medical Perspective : http://www.apa.org/topics/orientation.html
A Religious Perspective : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1020GayChristianTeens/message/1020
For those who quote the Bible : http://home.insight.rr.com/snookems/controversies/contradictions.html and
http://www.otkenyer.hu/halsall/lgbh-cortim.html

Hopefully - thoughtful consideration of the above should make the haters reconsider, but Im actually starting to think that nothing will change the minds of these people

Support religious exemption from pro-gay adoption laws

Isnt it disgusting that the Catholic Church is so full of hate that it would deny orphans good homes based on their misguided, misinformed views on homosexuality?

Gay rights in the US

Being an avid user of Digg, eventually its pretty depressing reading the posts of some of the diggers on the site especially around gay themed news and opinion. Take a look at the postings of users such as jamescarville, and his friends. I know this is not the real James - but he does phrase his opinion in a similar manner. This man is truly on a crusade against anything that does not match his warped idea of normality.

Anti Gay (or as he always calls us - faggots, and oh yeah - he just discovered the meat ball joke), Anti Black (He uses the N word), Anti Middle East - He LOVES to type the words "mud people"

Sometimes you think Natural Selection needs to work faster
